Bulldog Booster Club

Bulldog Booster Club

The purpose of this organization is to encourage active support of Mexico High School and Mexico Middle School sponsored sports and related activities, to encourage good sportsmanship and proper recognition of teams and individuals who are deserving, and to assist the Athletic Director(s) and coaches in any way possible.

Booster Membership

Show your support for student athletes by making a monetary contribution at the level that best fits your budget each year. All members will be recognized on banners or posters displayed at various Booster-related activities throughout the school year. Memberships are encouraged to be renewed annually. The membership year follows the school year, August through May.

More than a member

If you have an interest in being more involved with the Booster Club you are welcome to offer your services to work in softball, basketball or baseball concession stands. New members are elected annually. If you would be interested in serving on the board, please contact a present board member.

Fundraising

The funds used to support the student athletes and sports teams primarily come from membership donations, concessions sales, the annual dinner auction and cooking for the annual Gold Crest Wild Bird Expo.

·         Membership donations

·         Concession Stand income

·         Annual Dinner Auction

·         Stadium seat sales

·         Various community events

The way it works

Coaches submit requests to the board for non-school budgeted items that will benefit the team overall. The board also considers requests for special projects as they are presented. We have donated over the years to the tennis court renovations, the new press box used for football, softball and track and helped pay for dirt and field leveling for the softball and baseball fields.

How We Help

The following is what the board has approved for purchase or given away so far, just in 2017.

·         14 College Scholarships were awarded to senior athletes at $500 each - $7,000 Total

·         Recognition Patches for District, Conference and State achievement to go on athlete’s letter jackets

·         Senior Posters that hang in the gym – each athlete is given their first sport poster and has the opportunity to purchase any additional sport posters taken their senior year.

Girls Scoccer - Warm Ups, Boys & Girls Track - New Sweatshirts & Sweatpants, Girls & Boys Basketball - Shooting Machine &  Wrestling - New Gear Bags

In Addition

Each year the Booster Club sponsors a recognition dinner for all senior athletes and their parents. This is a catered dinner where each athlete has a chance to be recognized for the sports they participated in throughout their high school career and share what their post-high school plans include.

Booster Club also sponsors cookie and punch receptions for athletes and their families following each season of middle school sports. All student athletes are recognized and some receive achievement awards from their coaches or teams.

Other Groups Benefit

We partner with several student clubs and organizations from the high school to work the winter sport concession stands. Once the season is over, the Booster Club pays a portion of the winter concession income to each group for their services.
