Elementary Principals attend 2026 MAESP Leadership Conference

March 2, 2026 - Elementary principals from McMillan, Hawthorne, and Eugene Field are gathering with colleagues from across the state for the annual Missouri Association of Elementary School Principals (MAESP) 2026 Leadership Conference at the Lake of the Ozarks. Five Mexico Public Schools leaders attended the event on Sunday and Monday, focusing on strengthening instructional leadership and school culture.
Throughout the conference, principals heard from experts and experienced educators whose work centers on helping others grow into their full potential. Sessions highlighted practical, research-based strategies for building strong teams, improving workplace culture, and transforming how schools approach social-emotional learning, character education, and kindness. Presenters also emphasized creating spaces where diverse voices are valued and supporting leaders at every stage of their journey.
Professional development in educational leadership plays a critical role in the success of our schools. Opportunities like MAESP allow principals to step away from daily responsibilities to reflect, learn new strategies, and collaborate with peers who understand the unique challenges and rewards of leading elementary schools. The ability to network and share ideas with other Missouri principals ensures our district continues to bring fresh ideas and proven practices back to our students, staff, and families.
By investing in leadership learning, Mexico Public Schools continues its commitment to strong schools, supportive cultures, and student success.
