No election needed for school board

March 11, 2026 – An election will not be held for Mexico Public Schools school board next month. When filing ended in December, Lennette Brown, Mathew Pilger, and Jessica Ekern re-filed as candidates for the three seats open.
Because the three open positions were met by the three incumbent filings, no election will be required for the April 8, 2026 ballot. All three candidates will continue their service to the district. The oaths of office and board reorganization will take place at the April meeting.
The Audrain County League of Women Voters is holding its annual candidate forum on March 31 at 7 PM at the Mexico Area Chamber of Commerce. Board candidates were invited to attend.
