Special Education Team Completes Professional Development with Missouri RPDC

March 17, 2026 – Our Special Education Department (SPED) recently partnered with the Missouri Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) for focused training on specially-designed instruction and the special education process.
The professional development centered on strengthening instructional practices within the IEP framework, ensuring students receive support tailored to their individual learning levels. By diving deeper into specially designed instruction, teachers explored strategies to better meet students where they are academically and developmentally.
The training also provided clarity around the SPED process, helping teachers strengthen their understanding of how services are developed, implemented, and monitored. This work directly supports consistency across buildings, particularly within our class-within-a-class model, so students experience aligned supports no matter which building they are in.
Our SPED teachers bring a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to the classroom. This training honored that diversity by meeting educators where they are, building on existing knowledge, and strengthening shared practices across the district.
We are proud of the team’s continued commitment to professional growth and to providing high-quality, individualized support for every student they serve.
