Raindrop Romp brings families together for fitness and fun

April 11, 2026 – Elementary families laced up their shoes and headed to Green Estates Park for the annual “Raindrop Romp,” a family fun run hosted by the district’s elementary physical education teachers.
The Raindrop Romp is one of three family fun runs held throughout the school year, all designed to encourage students and their families to stay active together while building connections beyond the school day. The event welcomed parents, students, and siblings for a relaxed, fun-focused run that emphasized participation over competition.
In addition to promoting healthy habits, the event also serves as an opportunity to strengthen family involvement in schools. By creating a space where families can participate alongside their students, the run helps reinforce the importance of physical activity and shared experiences.
Hosting the event at Green Estates Park also introduced many families to one of Mexico’s local outdoor spaces. For some, it was their first time visiting the park, offering a chance to explore community resources while enjoying time together.
Through events like the Raindrop Romp, Mexico Public Schools continues to prioritize student wellness, family engagement, and community connection...one step at a time.
