Eighth Graders Honored for Courtesy

May 5, 2026 – Each year at Mexico Middle School, a small group of students is recognized for something that matters just as much as academics: the way they treat others.
This year, four eighth-grade students were selected to receive the Courtesy Award, an honor presented annually to students who consistently demonstrate kindness, respect, and courtesy in their daily interactions with classmates, staff, and others throughout the school community.
Students are nominated by their teachers, who look for individuals who lead by example and help create a positive culture inside the school.
The Courtesy Award was established in 2003 and continues to recognize the character and integrity of Mexico Middle School students year after year.
The award is sponsored by retired Mexico Middle School teachers Terry Henage and Jan Douglas. Mr. Henage presented this year’s awards this morning. Each recipient received a certificate along with a monetary award.
This year’s Courtesy Award recipients include:
- Anna Isgrig
- Maelynn Kirklin
- Collin Forrest
- Julian Ruppel
Congratulations to these students for the example they set each day and for helping make Mexico Middle School a place where kindness, respect, and character continue to matter.
